Admission to 1st Semester


General Rules :

  • Application for admission to B.A. (Honours & General) courses will start according to the guidelines provided by the University of Calcutta and West Bengal Higher Education Department.
  • All applications and subsequent processes would be through online mode only.
  • Under these circumstances of the pandemic due to Covid-19 outbreak no student will be allowed to enter the college premises in any case.
  • All communications/notices will be published on the college website, i.e. www.sukantacollege.org.
  • A student may apply separately for any number of subjects in Honours or General stream satisfying the eligibility criteria paying the requisite fee (Rs. 200/-) and internet handling charges for each application.
  • Application forms are to be submitted carefully checking eligibility criteria, subject combinations and other details. Once submitted, forms will not be available for editing, so all candidates who wish to get admitted are requested to fill up the form very carefully.
  • After submission of Application Form online take note of the Unique Application ID generated automatically. This ID will be needed for all future communications.
  • Application fees of Rs.200/- per subject may be paid only through the online payment gateway on the website by using Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking.
  • Application fee is non-refundable.
  • Merit Lists will be published on the college website: www.sukantacollege.org on due date(s). Selection will be strictly on the basis of merit and the college reserves the right of admission.
  • For all notices and developments regarding the Admission procedure all candidates are requested to check the college website regularly.
  • The admission is provisional, subject to physical scrutiny and verification of the documents afterwards. The provisional admission is liable to be cancelled if at a later stage a candidate fails to submit proper documents required by the College and the University. Also, at a later stage, during verification and scrutiny, if the original documents do not match with the documents uploaded by a candidate during the application process, her/his admission will be cancelled then and there. Also, one must bring the print copy of the Payment Acknowledgement Receipt/Slip without which admission will be withheld.
